Thaw

With the arrival of spring, I wanted to call attention to the changes happening in a state park near my home.

For one of these typographic interventions, I wanted the form of the word to embody the natural processes at work. Using snowballs, I placed the word “THAW” on the thin ice of a pond. Over the course of several days, the ice melted and the snowballs floated free in the water, eventually melting themselves.
