High Country Junior Race Series
I live in the mountains of western North Carolina with three ski areas less than an hour away from my home. Both of my kids learned to ski here at a young age and soon after they were able to ski down advanced slopes, they joined the ski team at Appalachian Ski Mountain.
Appalachian competes with teams from Sugar and Beech Mountains in the High Country Junior Race Series. I was asked to design new race bibs and stickers in 2021, The bibs feature large intersecting type and randomly placed arcs to echo ski and board tracks seen on the mountains. I wrote a little program in Processing to make a PDF with randomly placed arcs and brought them into Illustrator for the final design.
